Membrane filter elements –
for shorter cycles and higher solids content

As the inventor of the membrane filter element (1973), we continuously advance membrane technology. LENSER membrane filter elements significantly accelerate your filtration process. They increase dry solids content while simultaneously conserving resources.

This is achieved through mechanical post pressing directly in the chamber – precision fit and efficient.

We develop and manufacture:

  • KM bloc – standard, welded
  • KM UM bloc – empty chamber, welded
  • KM UM HD bloc – high pressure element, welded
  • KM RUM – with replaceable membrane half
  • KM RUD – with replaceable membrane flap

KM bloc – membrane filter element, standard, welded

KM bloc

The recessed membrane ensures uniform cake thickness, significantly improving washing results.

Your benefits:

  • Shorter filtration cycles
  • Energy cost savings
  • Higher throughput capacity
  • Higher dry solids content
  • Reduced water consumption due to shorter washing times
  • Improved washing results
  • Reduced air consumption during air drying
  • Uniform distribution of cake thickness

KM UM bloc – membrane filter element, empty chamber, welded

KM UM bloc

The UM bloc design is characterized by a stepped rib structure with double nub height in the edge area. This double stepped rib structure ensures safe operation – even when chambers are not completely filled.

Your benefits:

  • Safe post pressing even with an empty chamber
  • Stable filter cake geometry
  • Reduced water and air consumption
  • Shorter cycle times
  • Higher performance with lower resource input

KM UM HD bloc – high pressure membrane filter element, empty chamber, welded

KM UM HD bloc

Designed for applications with increased pressure requirements, this element safely withstands post pressing pressures of up to 30 bar thanks to its special inlet design and optimized material combination.

Your benefits:

  • Energy cost savings
  • Higher throughput capacity
  • Higher dry solids content
  • Shorter filtration cycles
  • Reduced water consumption due to shorter washing times
  • Improved washing results
  • Reduced air consumption during air drying
  • Post pressing pressures of up to 30 bar possible

KM RUM – membrane filter element with replaceable membrane half

KM RUM

The membrane is secured using clip strips and can be replaced quickly when required – without removing the element.

Your benefits:

  • Energy cost savings
  • Higher throughput capacity
  • Higher dry solids content
  • Shorter filtration cycles
  • Reduced water consumption due to shorter washing times
  • Improved washing results
  • Reduced air consumption during air drying
  • Replaceable membrane for cost and time efficient maintenance
  • Easy replacement of the membrane half

KM RUD – membrane filter element with replaceable membrane flap

KM RUD

The membrane halves are secured to the carrier plate using clip strips. This element is exclusively available as part of the LENSER Mixed Pack.

Your benefits:

  • Energy cost savings
  • Higher throughput capacity
  • Higher dry solids content
  • Shorter filtration cycles
  • Reduced water consumption due to shorter washing times
  • Improved washing results
  • Reduced air consumption during air drying
  • Replaceable membrane for cost and time efficient maintenance
  • Easy replacement of the membrane flaps
  • Available only as part of the LENSER Mixed Pack

KM bloc

KM bloc

The recessed membrane allows a more uniform cake thickness and a very good washing result.

Advantages

  • Shorter filtration cycles
  • Shorter washing times
  • Higher dry solids content
  • Even cake thickness distribution across filtration area
  • Higher throughput rate
  • Reduced water consumption
  • Reduced air consumption during blow-drying
  • Superior cake washing/blowing results

KM UM bloc

KM UM bloc

The UM bloc version is characterized by a bar row in the edge area that is stepped to double the nap height. It convinces with a particularly high operational reliability, as the UM membrane also tolerates a squeezing in an insufficiently filled or empty filter chamber.

Advantages

  • Shorter filtration cycles
  • Shorter washing times
  • Higher dry solids content
  • Higher throughput rate
  • Reduced water consumption
  • Reduced air consumption during blow-drying
  • Superior cake washing/blowing results
  • With stepped bar row in the edge area
  • Suitable for repressing into a little filled or empty chamber

KM UM HD bloc

KM UM HD bloc

High-pressure membrane filter elements are characterized by their high load capacity. Thanks to special inlet designs and material combinations, these filter elements can withstand squeezing pressures of up to 30 bar.

Advantages

  • Shorter filtration cycles
  • Shorter washing times
  • Higher dry solids content
  • Higher throughput rate
  • Reduced water consumption
  • Reduced air consumption during blow-drying
  • Squeezing pressure up to 30 bar

KM RUM

KM RUM

Exchangeable membrane filter elements are an efficient and cost-effective solution for maintaining your filter press equipment. In the case of worn elements, it is not necessary to replace the complete filter plate, but only the membrane - the basic body remains intact.

With the KM RUM type, the membrane halves are fixed to the carrier plate by means of clip strips. These designs allow easy and problem-free replacement of the membrane.

Vorteile

  • Shorter filtration cycles
  • Shorter washing times
  • Higher dry solids content
  • Higher throughput rate
  • Reduced water consumption
  • Reduced air consumption during blow-drying
  • Exchangeable membrane for cost and time efficient maintenance
  • Easy exchange of the membrane half

KM RUD

KM RUD

Exchangeable membrane filter elements are an efficient and cost-effective solution for maintaining your filter press equipment. In the case of worn elements, it is not necessary to replace the complete filter plate, but only the membrane - the basic body remains intact.

With type KM RUD, the membrane are fastened in the designated mounting grooves of the basic body by means of clamping strips. Please note that the KM RUD type can only be used as LENSER Mixed Pack.

Advantages

  • Shorter filtration cycles
  • Shorter washing times
  • Higher dry solids content
  • Higher throughput rate
  • Reduced water consumption
  • Reduced air consumption during blow-drying
  • Exchangeable membrane for cost and time efficient maintenance
  • Easy exchange of the membrane half
  • Only as LENSER Mixed Pack
How the membrane process works

Unlike pure pressure filtration with chamber filter elements, membrane filter elements feature a flexible filtration layer known as the membrane. After the filling phase, this membrane can be mechanically expanded outward – for example using compressed air or water.

This allows the filter cake to be post pressed evenly across the entire surface. As a result, cycle times are significantly shortened while dry solids content is increased.

During the washing phase, the membrane stabilizes the filter cake by applying constant pressure. Subsequent post pressing after washing further increases the solids content – without the need for prolonged air drying.
