Your way to the ideal filter cloth for your process

Even the smallest improvement in your filtration process can have a noticeable impact on your bottom line. Filter cloths also make a significant contribution to the success of efficient and sustainable filtration. For example, choosing the right fabric construction for your filter cloth is already a key criterion for the efficiency of your filtration process. There is no universal or perfect filter cloth – you have to find the right filter medium for each process.

LENSER is happy to support you with all our experience. Get an initial overview of our LENSER PRESS TEX product families now or contact our #FiltrationExperts directly.

Filter media are usually made of synthetic plastics such as polypropylene, polyamide or polyester. Yarns in the form of mono- and multifilaments as well as staple fibres are then produced from these and processed into the three LENSER PRESS TEX fabric types.

LENSER PRESS TEX Mono – for a long product life cycle

LENSER PRESS TEX Mono describes cloth fabrics made of pure mono filaments. These fabrics are particularly convincing due to their long processing times and are therefore preferred for applications in the food processing sector.

Properties

  • Mono/Mono and Mono/Multi filaments made of PP, PA and PET
  • Food compliant fabrics (FDA and EU 10/2011)
  • Lowest blocking
  • Wide range of different air passages
  • Optional sewn-on support cloth

Advantages

  • Excellent dry content and good cake release properties
  • High production rates
  • No cross contamination due to food compliant labelling
  • Customised filter cloth solutions
  • Long-lasting filter performance
  • Best regeneration capacity after washing

Applications

We recommend the choice of a filter cloth based on a mono-filament for the following applications:

  • Food: sugar, palm oil, beer mash
  • Chemicals: silica, phosphates
LENSER PRESS TEX Multi – for robust applications

LENSER PRESS TEX Multi is a pure multifilament. Under the magnifying glass, the fabric can be described as a check pattern. The multifilaments are needed for robust solutions as well as for good retention of fine particles. Due to the rough yarn structure, the cake adheres more strongly to the fabric.

Properties

  • Multi Filaments made of PP, PA and/or staple fibres with increased abrasion resistance
  • Particle retention of finest particles
  • Robust production due to reinforced inlet area or reinforced fastening eyelets

Advantages

  • Maximum utilization through defined particle retention
  • Extended mechanical filter cloth service life
  • Customized filter cloth solutions

Applications

We recommend the selection of a filter cloth based on a multi-filament for the following applications:

  • Mining: copper processing, red mud, metal hydroxide sludges
  • Minerals: gravel, clay
LENSER PRESS TEX Composite – for finest filtrate

LENSER PRESS TEX Composite describes needle felt solutions. At high magnification, a defined yarn structure is no longer comprehensible, which means that even the smallest fine particles are filtered out of the suspension. We distinguish between standard composites and preformed composites (LFC). LENSER PRESS TEX Composite gives you a clear filtrate and a strong cake structure.

Properties

  • Conventional fabrication, e.g. as a push-through cloth
  • Flamed and calendered surface minimizes particle ingress into the filter medium
  • Excellent retention of fine particles
  • Customized edge coating

Advantages:

  • Only little to no turbidity and clear filtrate
  • Maximum utilization due to highest particle retention

Applications

We recommend the choice of a filter cloth based on a composite filament for the following applications:

  • Food: fruit juices, yeast, proteins
